Upload photo and turn it black and white.
Then crop the photo to get rid of as much background as possible.

By changing the levels I can make the hand lighter, and along with the hand, but keep the contrast similar to what it was before it changed the levels of the colours.
I press ‘Filter’ then ‘Liquify’ and then slightly pull the wrinkles and skin down a little to make the hand appear older.

I cropped the finger out.
Then I had the layer effect be 'Overlay'. This created a hard light.
Then I went on filter gallery, artistic then bubble wrap filter.
The Final Image. The yellow lighting is unlike the photos John Coplans did. It makes the stomach look grimy. Yellow lighting is usually used to make a photo look more friendly and warm. Coplans are dark and more defined. However, it draws your eyes more into the centre, as the lightening because more darkened towards the outside.

I made a new layer with black and white.
Afterwards, I duplicated the background layer.
Then I had this as an over layer effect. -
(The hard light I actually added afterwards). |
Crop the colours out.
Add a black layer (I just painted the new layer black)
Then duplicate the original layer
Change the opacity
Add a vignette using the 'gradient tool'. Then copy and paste like with the ultra sound other objects and change their opacity.

The hands (and some clothing) have been made very white and contrast greatly with the darker ultra sound scan. The hands are postion to create a frame for the ultra sound, and because it is in a heart shape it conveys love. It is a combination between John Coplands and Dianne Yudelson. The piece of clothing provides line for the image to sit upon.
Copy and paste the ultra sound.
Make this an overlay layer (you can't see copy and pasted ultra sound because I pressed the eye which hides it till after I have finished the effects on the orignal photo.
Add the Plastic Wrap filter
Change the colours on the layer so it looks darker.
