Have a black background.
I selected 'Free Transform' for the both the images and changed their size.
'Free Transform' was selected to change its size and position again.
The final image is not exactly in proportion, but it's background, unlike the first attempt, is completely black and the objects are slightly brighter. I could have added some trinkets.

Use the 'Magnetic Lasso Tool' and go around the objects (separately) and copy and paste them separately onto the black background.
I used the 'Magnetic Lasso Tool' here too and copy and pasted it on the the other file.
Each object has its colours changed to black and white.

Place the texture in Photoshop on a separate layer.
A layer mask can be added, then make the colours black, then rub out, in order to erase unnecessary or overwhelming parts of the textured background.
This is the outcome. it is combined with the use of Ashley Whitt's textures (over the top of the image). I could have used a different texture with more defined cracks for when it's smaller, because they don't appear like cracks on the bib. Again, the image does not seem very bright. The brightness and contrast could have been hightened to create a more contrasting image and therefore make it seem more interesting.

Add a 'Darkened' effect to the layer.
I added another layer in order to place a specific place of the texture on an object so it was overrun by the larger cracks.
