Ilona Swarc takes photos to represent female stereotypes. In all of the photos, none of the children appear to be happy, instead they look sullen; the female stereotype does not represent everyone, as not all children want to have a baby, nor should they feel pressured to, which is what these photos are portraying. These girls are only young, yet they are aware that they are supposed to be having children; that is what is expected of them. In the top photo, the room is dull, reinforcing the feeling of gloominess. Underneath the bed there are several DVDs, typical of a child her age. The doll is dressed in a similar fashion to the girl, representing that this is her child. In addition to this, the composition of the photo is well done. The top line (horizontal) goes across her face, so you are draw there. Your eyes are also drawn to the doll, due to the fact, that the corner of the room has a "line" appearing to go down it, so your eye goes to the doll. There is alot of space and emptiness surrounding the girls. This is a portrayal of how lonesome they are. It also helps focus your attention on the young girl and the doll.
