The photo itself is surround by blackness. This is used as a frame around the subject to draw attention to her. Her skin and her shoes are very light in contrast to the darkened tone in the photo, which help the subject to stand out. Due to her looking towards the flower (or just above it) it helps the audience draw their attention there to notice that too. The framing of the photo was influenced by Corinne Perry, as she has an image where it is framed in a circle, however I thought it would be nice instead of it being white to be black to create a darker feel to the photo. The faded and dark background was also influenced by Corinne. The dirtiness and darkened skin was influenced by John Coplans. This is because he usually does photos of rough skin and I thought that that sort of thing would help compliment and further the photo and the meaning/s of it. However, I did not want that whole rough feel, instead settling for an only slightly rough style that made her look dirty instead. The symbolicness from the flower was influenced by both Samantha Pugsley and Dianna Yudelson. Samantha often uses objects to portray meaning and Dianna Yudelson is more straight forward with hers. I settled on a dulled image of a sunflower, as it is well-known internationally as flower that means happiness. If I had to do it again, I would probably change her shoes. They are a little bright for the photo choice, however they do bring a little colour ,and therefore attention, to the photograph.

The photo has a liquified background to represent unsettlement in her life or mental state. It also helped the focus to be maintained on the subject. The lines of the bench help draw your attention to her. The sun flower is besides her. In many cultures the flower means happiness. It is however dulled at the edges conveying a fading happiness or impending sadness. In another sense it could imply there is still happines to come, as the flower is high enough for someone to be handing it to her. The colours of the photo are cold as cooling filters were added on. This was in order to create a cold and saddened and isolated feel to the photo. The girl is also slightly dirty, which could mean she's in a bad position. The bench is rotted and old and there is a old bricked background. The background is general is old and tattered further portraying the girls bad position and her isolation. The textures of the bench and the brick walls are rough, however by liquefying the background it creates an opposing texture, smooth like the waves. These contract is evident in the feelings with the isolated cold feeling the photo and he girl and the symbolism of the flower. This juxtaposition could convey conflicting emotions. the person is posed, looking upwards slightly and is biting her finger or finger nail, which is a habit when nervous. This portrays the nervous, anxious feelings of he subject which is reinforced by the cold tones in the picture.
